Maker Park NYC

maker park is

an outdoor sculpture park and community work space that provides opportunities for artists to make and exhibit temporary public art projects in our amazing 20000 sq ft outdoor space. Artists can expect their work to be shown for a year through a grant provided by staten island arts. 

 

We also host community events and teach outdoor workshops. We have already hosted multiple block parties, barbeques, markets, fairs and so much more for our community partners. one of our favorite events has to be outdoor movie screenings. Makerpark does not, however, host private events.   

 

When our original staten island location was opened back in 2013; the empty lot across the street was filled with 18 burned out, flooded, and smashed up abandoned vehicles. Thanks to the help of the NYCEDC, our NYC Councilwoman Debi Rose, staten island Borough President Jim Oddo, many outstanding volunteers, and community partners we are transforming the derelict lot into a useable community space. It is a work in progress.
